Tracie L. Palmer

Trial Attorney

Tracie L. Palmer is a skilled trial attorney with a proven record of multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in personal injury, product liability, and civil rights cases. Known for her courtroom presence, strategic advocacy, and compassionate approach, she ensures juries and courts see the human stories at the heart of litigation.

Tracie began her legal career at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted felony crimes and developed her passion for trial work. She later joined a prominent Philadelphia personal injury firm, rising to partner while securing justice for catastrophically injured clients.

Throughout her career Tracie has secured record-setting and life-changing victories for her clients. As lead counsel, she obtained a $120 million jury verdict in a medical device case—the largest of its kind nationwide and the then-largest contested liability personal injury verdict in Pennsylvania history. In another medical device case, she helped win a $57.1 million verdict as co-counsel on behalf of a catastrophically injured client. These results reflect not only her command of the courtroom, but her ability to distill complex medical and technical evidence into compelling arguments that resonate with juries.

Her dedication to institutional accountability and safeguarding individual rights has led to significant recoveries in civil rights litigation. As co-counsel, Tracie helped secure a $4.4 million settlement in a police shooting case—the then-largest civil rights settlement in Philadelphia history—and a $3.5 million recovery in a highly publicized case of familial abuse.

Tracie’s excellence has been recognized by the independent survey group SuperLawyers. From 2018 to 2022, she was designated a Rising Star, an honor awarded only to the top 2.5% of attorneys in the state who are 40 or younger.

Tracie earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was executive editor of the Journal of Law and Social Change and was awarded Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year for her work with Students Against Gender-Based Exploitation (S.A.G.E.), an organization that worked to address gender-based violence.

Tracie completed her undergraduate work at Harvard University, where she graduated with honors and served as an officer with The Seneca, Inc., a group that focused on women’s issues on campus and in the community.

In 2021, Tracie returned to Harvard to pursue a longtime dream: studying spiritual care. After earning her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, Tracie completed a yearlong chaplaincy residency at a major hospital in Philadelphia where she provided emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff and served as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Sitting at the bedsides of patients and walking with families through challenges and heartbreak gave her unique insight into the emotional toll of medical care and treatment and the inner workings of our healthcare system.

Following her training, Tracie joined VSCP Law and returned to the courtroom with a deeper appreciation for how catastrophic injuries impact not only individuals, but families and communities. Her work is driven by unmatched skill and compassion and grounded in the belief that the law must be a tool for accountability and fairness. The courage and resilience of her clients and their families continue to inspire her fight for justice—one case and one story at a time.

Outside of her legal practice, Tracie enjoys spending time with her family in her beloved East Passyunk neighborhood, exploring Philadelphia’s vibrant food scene, and cheering on the Phillies.
