Amanda has stood up to the largest health system in Pennsylvania and won. In a hard-fought jurisdictional battle, the defense sought to move her client’s medical negligence case out of Philadelphia by relying on the technicalities of a multibillion-dollar corporate merger. Through exhaustive discovery, corporate depositions, and layered briefing, Amanda demonstrated that the system’s operations and decision-making were firmly tied to the city. The court’s decision preserved her client’s right to litigate in the forum she chose and is expected to serve as an important reference point for future venue disputes involving health-care mergers in Pennsylvania.
Her results extend beyond procedural victories. Amanda has obtained seven-figure jury verdicts in cases where no settlement was offered, multi-million-dollar recoveries in complex premises and medical negligence actions, and has helped secure more than $50 million in settlements for survivors of sexual abuse as counsel and co-counsel. She serves as Chair of the Future Leaders Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, is Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Section of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and sits on both its Board of Governors and Nominating Committee. She also serves as an At-Large Director on the Board of the Philadelphia LGBTQ Bar Association.
In 2022, Amanda founded the Diverse Mentoring Initiative, a statewide collaboration among leading trial lawyer organizations mentors law students across Pennsylvania. The program is now regarded as a model for developing the next generation of skilled trial lawyers and strengthening representation for victims across the state.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Amanda graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo, earned a master’s degree in education from George Mason University, and obtained her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and award-winning trial advocate. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
When not practicing law, Amanda enjoys cheering on her Buffalo Bills and traveling with her husband and rescue pup, Emmy.
